Trust & verification
What each badge on a listing means, and exactly what we checked before it was awarded.

The business owner manages this listing. To claim it, they proved control of the business — through the business's own email address, or a claim link we sent to it. Owners keep hours, contact details and services up to date.
A member of our team has checked the listing's details with the business itself. A person awards it, never an automatic process. If a listing's details are under dispute, we don't verify it until the dispute is resolved.
Businesses can list trade certifications and professional memberships on their profile. Each one is checked by our team before it appears — an unverified certification is not shown publicly. Supporting documents a business sends us are kept private and are never published.
Ratings shown on a listing come from reviews left on ListedLocally and, where available, a Google rating — both are checked and labelled. How reviews are moderated before they appear is set out in full on our how we check reviews page.
A Verified badge means a member of our team has checked the listing's details with the business itself. It is awarded by a person, not automatically, and it cannot be bought.
A claimed listing is managed by the business owner. They proved control of the business — through its email address or a claim link we sent to it — and they keep the listing's details up to date.
No. Verification and certifications are never sold. Paid plans and sponsored placement change where a listing appears on a page, and they are always labelled as such.
We only add a badge where we have checked the evidence and the match is clear. If a badge is missing, tell us and we'll check — email [email protected].
